Where has the time gone? February 2007 was when i decided to come and check out Warner University. Long story short i enrolled for the fall semester. It was a rough ride trying to come here. I had no support from my parents because i was suppose to transfer to Florida State. Also, they do not have a walk with God so they did not understand why i was going to Warner. I had no support from my Church at that time or my friends. They did not want to see me leave.
But God saw me through all those struggles and i was able to transfer to Warner. I remember when i first came to Warner i loved it. But as time went on, i began to regret it. I was not fond of people here and i was up to my ears in debt just to be able to come. After my first year, i was not sure if i wanted to finish. But i had to finish what i had started.
Now that i look back on it all, i do not regret coming here anymore. Sure, their were times where i really hated being here and could not put up with people anymore. But their are a lot things i got to experience that i would have not if i had not come to Warner. I went on two missions trips last year to Honduras and would have never done that if i had not come to Warner. That is just one of many examples that made me realize that coming here was not a bad choice. God taught me a lot of lessons, sometimes the hard way. But i needed to learn those lessons and i am better because of it. I will cherish all the good times i had at Warner and will greatly miss my friends here. But i am ready to start a new chapter in my life and excited to see what God has in store for me.
So here we are down to the last week of school. Finals, papers, projects, all due within days of each other. The stress builds and builds and can become overwhelming.
Just know that God is with you through all of that stress. He has been with you all through out the school year and will be here for you now. I know how stressful this time of the school year can be. I am feeling the stress of finals plus the stress if becoming a summer transient student to finish my degree. It takes a lot of paper work to do this. Also, i have to take out more loans. But some how i have found peace in all of this.
How you ask? I gave it all to God. It was not easy, but i had no choice. Thinking of where i was going to go, how i was going to pay for it, how long it would take and even how i could get a job to support myself. All these thoughts ran through my mind 24/7. All that did was cause me to lose sleep, miss a few classes and slack on homework.
But God is good and gave me peace from all that stress and now i am enjoying my final days with my good friends and my favorite professors. Below i posted a short stand clip from one of my favorite comedians. Some may find it funny, some may not. But i hope what i said can encourage you and even give you a laugh.

This up coming Sunday Hillsong London will be leading worship at Celebration Church! The Church is located in Jacksonville, FL. Hillsong London hails from London and is an amazing Church band. This band plays all different kinds of songs for the young and the young at heart. They will be leading worship services for all main campus services on Sunday, April 19th. The cost is nothing and the gain is everything!
Come on out and listen to live, upbeat, and powerful music! You will not leave the service feeling the same way that you came in feeling. Below is a video of Hillsong London. Lake Wales, FLA| Recently speed bumps where built on Presidents drive. So far students are not thrilled. The speed bumps are placed in poor areas. People can still speed on Presidents drive. Warner student Josh Copess said, ” These new speed bumps are rated for 15 mph and the speed limit on Presidents drive is 25 mph.” He went on to say, ” It makes no sense that they did that and these new bumps will not last long.”
Students feel Warner yet again, threw away money. The speed bumps are made of rubber and do not really slow down vehicles much. What will Warner spend their money on next? Who knows, maybe ten years from now Warner will have that much needed academic building.
I am almost finished with college and i have hit a cross roads. God has opened many doors and now a choice has to be made. Go one way or go the other. Traveling the country and live out of a suitcase while being away from friends and family? Or stay in Florida and move into an apartment. These are just some of the thoughts that are running through my mind as my college career comes to an end. Being knee deep in school loans is not the worry. Figuring out where to go is the worry.
Sound familiar? I am sure that many of you college seniors out their are feeling the same thing. Maybe even thinking the same thoughts. Some may even be having the same doubts and confusions. Take it from me, God will be their every step of the way. He will reveal the road leading to the future. He will provide a job and a place to live. How you ask? Simply believe and trust in God. God already knows your every thought and fear. He knows all doubts and confusions. God will not let any graduating seniors fall. He knows about all the hard work, pain, tears, and frustrations it took to get that degree.
Be at peace as these final few weeks of college come to an end. Enjoy the little time that is left with friends and professors. One chapter is coming to an end as a new chapter begins. Be encouraged and have faith. Believe that God will be their every step of the way just like a parent. Believe that He will provide and turning to Him will make the transition from college to the real world easier. Graduate from college knowing that God is right their and everything will fall into place.
Are you one of those people who seems to just barely make it to the gate? Well their are many ways to avoid this hassle. If you buy your ticket on-line, you can go to the self check out line and print out your own boarding pass. Many times people will purchase what is called an e-ticket and then wait in the regular line to get checked in. When people do this, it just makes the wait longer for people who do not have an e-ticket. To avoid this problem, go to the self check out line if you have an e-ticket.
Another way to avoid missing your flight is to make sure you know what you can and can not bring on the plane. Many times people do not bother to research what they can bring in their carry ons. So they end up being stuck in security longer, while others who did know what is allowed get through faster.. Also, before you get to the security check point, make sure you have your i.d. and boarding pass. For those flying international, make sure you have your passport, i.d. and boarding pass handy. This makes the process go smoother and the lines move faster.
Knowing where all the gates are also helps. Knowing how to get to your gate decides whether you miss or make your flight. People tend to not know where to go or do not realize how long it can take to get to a gate. Go to your gate first and then go walk around. Better to know where your gate is ahead of time.
Following these tips will not only help you, but will help others. It was also make the lines go a lot faster. You will also have plenty of time to get to your gate so you do not miss your flight.
Something we all must learn is that God will provide no matter what. You may not get everything you want, but God will make sure you get everything you need to get through your day. Sometimes we want things in our own timing and when we do not get it, we question God. We ask, what is taking you so long? Why are you giving this to this person and not me? Why can not i have this one thing? What are you waiting on God? I know i have asked those questions to God many times. Sometimes He does give us exactly what we want. But over time we realize it is not what we wanted at all. However, God does sometimes give us everything we want. But, it is all in His will and His timing. In my walk with God He has not failed to bless me with exactly what i need to live my life. He knows all of our needs even when sometimes we do not see it. We need to not focus so much on our wants, but focus on God. If we could learn to put God first, He will provide. Putting God first in your life is not always easy. I know i struggle with it. But by giving God your life, if shows Him that you trust Him with your whole heart and you have faith that He will provide for you.
Playing a Swiss army triplet on snare drum is no easy task, but is very easy to learn. This rudiment is a combination of a flam and a triplet. I will go over the techniques of this rudiment and also how to play it.
Breaking it down makes it sound a lot simpler. You start off with a flam and then hit with your right and then your left. Make sure you accent the flam so you get the full effect of the rudiment. Before you try this rudiment, make sure you have a clean sounding flam. Otherwise, this rudiment will sound like a train wreck. I have included a picture of what a Swiss army triplet looks like as a guide. Also, I have included a link to vicfirth.com for the audio file of what this rudiment should sound like when played properly. This link is very helpful because it includes a metronome to guide you while the rudiment audio is playing.
It will take some time to get the hang of this rudiment. But remember, speed is not the key here. Start off at a slow pace until the rudiment sounds clean. Then slowly speed it up. But do not play at a pace to where you lose control of this rudiment. Unlike some of the other snare drum rudiments, this one can fall apart a lot faster if not played at the correct pace. Here is a video I found on youtube.com of what i feel is a great example of what the Swiss Army Triplet should sound like. This guy is switching from right to left, this is to keep the rudiment going. I hope this is enough information to get you started and helps you learn the Swiss Army Triplet.
Spending a week in Daytona Beach during spring break was an interesting experience. Between the sound system shows and the festivals, you always have something to do. Thousands of college and high school students flock to Daytona Beach every year to enjoy their spring breaks. Their are many hot spots for young people such as, the beaches, the mall, clubs, restaurants and sporting events. Spring break in Daytona can bring out the worst in college students. Do not be shocked when you see groups of college spring breakers hammered by 1 in the afternoon. Also, do not be shocked if you see people hanging out of the windows of cars that are driving by. With all that aside, wether your a crazy college student or a young person looking to have a good time, Daytona is a great place to spend your spring break.
